February 22 Not much change for me, but Randy is doing great!I haven't written in here for quite awhile, pure laziness I guess. I haven't been lazy with my workouts though, I do not miss a day, and my workouts last at least an hour, usually more than that. Randy has started walking before work, at the mall. It shows, he is down to 211! I am stuck at 167, but have switched my workouts to try and get it going again. Food has really been my problem. I need to get back the willpower that took me from 216 to where I am now! I know that I can do it! It is supposed to be 35 degrees here on Sunday, I am so getting outside to walk. It's one of my favorite things to do for exercise.
My kids have started to exercise with me, which is great. I like to see how Randy and I can set a good example for them. I don't want my daughter to end up like me, worrying about her weight and yo-yoing most of her life.
So congratulations to my hubby for his progress, and wish me luck with mine! January 31 Bad Food Day! Bad, Bad!I'm having a horrible day today, cravings for sweets are killing me! I had 2 cookies and ice cream with my son, who is home sick from school. Usually, he nags me about eating poorly, but he's too sick to say anything today. I'm not going to let it ruin the whole day, the rest of the day will be healthy foods. I'm going to the store in a little while to get my sweet tooth staples for those days like today: sugar free jello and lite cool whip, special k bars, yogurt, fruit. I will tell my other children to take Sky's job of naggging me today. Just writng in this blog is giving me some willpower.
As far as the rest of my healthy lifestyle, I have done no less than 5 miles on the treadmill all week. I like it. I keep redoing my mp3 player with lots of good songs. My favorite band right now is Reel Big Fish. (ska music, really good and sometimes funny.) Randy is probably getting tons of exercise on his trip. I hope that he's not drinking too much though, that kind of messes up the exercise. It's hard to be a team on this, we don't get a lot of time together. After 20 years of marriage, I still miss him when he's gone. Only a few more days. January 28 Slow but sureThings are going for me. Little by little, I'm going to get it off. Randy hasn't even weighed in this week. He's eating healthy though, at least at home. His snowmobiling trip is this week, so that will either be a challange for him, or a very good thing. He'll probably be too tired to eat much! But the beer...well, between that and Superbowl Sunday, it will be a huge challange. I have had a great week for exercise. My treadmill and I get along very well. I just need to make myself use my weights, and my bands, and my workout books! I do much better when I can afford to go to the gym. I really took the gym for granted when I worked at one, free membership! And plenty of friends for support too.
Down one pound this week, to 167. One or two pounds a week, slow but sure and I'll keep it off. January 22 I hate the scale! At least today I do. Neither one o us lost any weight this week. We did drink beer while watching the Packers play. Phooey! Anyway, this just makes me want to try harder. I know that I have been doing great on exercise. I did almost 500 minutes of cardio, and worked out on our weight machine this past week. This is not counting other activities like bowling league, shoveling snow, housecleaning, etc. It is just very hard not to see the scale move. I want this to be a lifestyle change, I do not want us to go on any kind of crash diet. It has to fit into real life. I'm using tips from The Biggest Loser, and from Sparkpeople.com. Randy is going on his trip soon, so I hope that he has a plan for not overeating and over drinking. I know that they drink quite a bit when him and his buddies get together. After they are done riding I hope. I'm off to go to the store, and bank. Then it's out in the cold to get the snow shoveled. I'd rather be at work than out there in the cold. At least it's good exercise! January 16 Not holding on when running on the treadmill! That really surprised me when watching The Biggest Loser last night. I would think that by this time the contestants would know better than to try to hold on while on the treadmill. I don't like to see anyone voted off, but I would have voted for them too.
I did 5 miles on the treadmill today, and four miles yesterday. I'm trying to at least get a sixteen minute mile when I'm on.
I measured today, so here they are:
chest: 36
waist: 31.5
stomach 33.5
legs 21.5
Randy will have to get his done when I nag him to do them.
We have a big party coming up. Tons to drink and eat. It's going to be a challange. They are having only heavy appetizers and desserts. I'm going to convince myself that whatever fruit they have is a good enough treat! I've been working so hard on exercise, but I need to keep trying harder on the diet side of it.
As far as the hubby, I have no idea what he is eating at work, but I do know that he is hardly eating at home. By the time he gets home from work, he's so tired that he can barely eat! He has a one hour commute each way, and he works ten to twelve hour days!
